Straight Out Of Lime Street: The Apps To Download Ahead Of Your Away Day

The football season gets underway on August 14 and it’s just about one of the longest trips possible for Reds fans, who have been starved of football since prior to lifting the Premier League title.

Carrow Road beckons on the first weekend of the season, and plenty of fans will be on their travels, across the country boarding the five hour train ride. And while there will be cans aplenty to keep you occupied, there are also plenty of apps that can too…

Football Manager

It’s the king of the long journey and there’s nothing that beats a Football Manager session, whether playing on your laptop or your mobile, with the iOS and Android version just as good these days. Condensed, so there’s no need for press conferences and other more laborious tasks, you simply run the team and guide them to victory. And in five hours we’re sure you could have Hendo and the boys winning yet another Champions League title given that it’s much quicker to finish a season.

Bingo

Sticking with the games, we’re going for one that has become hugely popular over the last 12 months, and has always had a special place in Scouse hearts, from its working class roots to the amazing Bongos Bingo that pops up in town every month or so. There are tons of great bingo apps available these days and you’ll find plenty of variants to keep you occupied too from 90-ball and the more traditional, to slingo bingo which combines online slot play. A few sessions on the way down to the match, and you can’t go wrong.

Streaming Apps

Liverpool have the evening Saturday game first up, so you will likely be on the train ahead of a tasty early kick off between Manchester United and Leeds United. That means the likes of BT Sport and Sky Sports are must have apps so you don’t miss a minute of the action.

You’ll also be able to tune in to the likes of Soccer Saturday and get the low down and previews on Klopp’s first game of the season too against the newly promoted side.

Fantasy Football

You may have missed the first gameweek if you haven’t picked your Fantasy Football team prior to Friday’s game between Brentford and Arsenal, but away trips are great for tweaking your team, setting your captain and thinking about when to play that all important wildcard.
