Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool are considering adding another forward to their frontline this season, courtesy of which the club are now interested in signing Wolves winger Adama Traore on a discount.
The Spaniard, who turned 25 this year, was approached by Liverpool last summer as well, but Wolves refused to listen to offers of less than £60million. However, the Reds are now trying to bring the player to Anfield in a £25million deal, according to the Daily Star.
Jurgen Klopp, who described the player as ‘unplayable’ only a couple of seasons ago, is said to be a big admirer of the player, because of which the Reds have entered the race to sign the player again.
The Wolves forward contributed to only 6 goals from 41 appearances last season, quite a drop from when he contributed to 18 goals in the 2019/20 season.
Moreover, Traore has also suffered a recurring shoulder injury, which could have hampered his playing abilities to a certain extent. These factors play a part in the valuation of the player. However, it remains to be seen whether Traore would be content with a squad role rather than a starting XI berth.
Liverpool already have the likes of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota, and Divock Origi in their ranks, and there could be severe competition for game time next season.
Moreover, Italian outfit Roma have also been eyeing a deal for the Spanish winger, while ex-Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo is also trying to lure the player to Tottenham.
