The Daily Star reported about Liverpool interest in Bowen. According to the report, the club will pursue the 24-year-old as Shaqiri is likely to leave.

Do Liverpool need Jarrod Bowen?

Liverpool have some of the biggest names in world football when it comes to attackers. However, the likes of Mane and Firmino have shown a drop in quality last season. The club did sign Diogo Jota from Wolves last season. However, the player has not been fully convincing yet.

Another major hurdle for Liverpool will be the unavailability of Salah and Mane. Both players will be out for a period of time in January due to the Africa Cup of Nations.

Bowen on the other hand has been brilliant for the Hammers. The Englishman signed for West Ham in January 2019.

In his first full season, he made 38 appearances and racked up 8 goals and 5 assists. He played a prominent role in helping the club secure a place in the UEFA Europa League.

Apart from goals, Bowen is still 24. The player could be termed as the long-term successor for Salah at Anfield.
