Owen Beck tipped for a bright futre by Jurgen Klopp and Trent Alexander-Arnold

According to the Mirror, Jurgen Klopp and Trent Alexander-Arnold have heaped praises on Liverpool youngster Owen Beck.

The 19-year-old played a part in Liverpool’s 1-1 draw against Athletic Bilbao this past weekend. Senior left-back Andy Robertson suffered an ankle injury minutes before half-time. The Scotsman appeared to have twisted his ankle and was replaced by Beck.

The player was welcomed by the loud Anfield crowd. However, it did not seem to affect Beck’s nerves. He successfully made his mark on the Liverpool supporters with a solid display. The youngster certainly caught the eyes of first-team star Trent Alexander-Arnold and manager Klopp.

Alexander-Arnold insisted that while the player has a long way to go, he will become a top player.

“He’s still growing, he’s still maturing as a lad, he’s got a lot to learn but the signs are there that he’s going to be a top player”

Beck is on the same path as Trent once took. Hence, praise from him could mean a lot. Klopp, too, insisted

“Owen is a super talent, I’m really excited about him,”

Owen Beck is a product of Liverpool’s academy. As per Liverpoolfc.com, he arrived from Stoke City at the U13 level. He recently signed his first professional contract with the club in 2020.

The Welsh youth international has impressed the club with his offensive and defensive abilities. He still has a long way to go for securing a first-team spot. Apart from Robertson, the club have Kostas Tsimikas and James Milner who can play left-back. But the early signings are certainly encouraging.
