Fiorentina reveal the price tag for Liverpool target Dusan Vlahovic
According to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio (h/t Liverpool Echo) Liverpool are interested in signing Dusan Vlahovic. However, Fiorentina have placed a hefty price tag of £50.8million on the striker.
In addition to the price tag, the Reds will face another hurdle. Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in Serbian and view him as a potential Harry Kane replacement.
Do Liverpool need Vlahovic?
Roberto Firmino has been leading the line for the Reds for a number of years now. However, the Brazilian has had an underwhelming output in the last couple of seasons. He does the job of bringing Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane into play but the goals have not been coming regularly.
Liverpool signed Diogo Jota in 2020. The Portuguese has often replaced Firmino in the front three. However, he is suited to playing in the wider roles.
Hence, signing someone like Vlahovic makes sense. He could get a year or two to develop and get used to the style of play in England. After a couple of years, he might be capable of leading the line for Liverpool.
The 21-year-old has been in deadly form lately. However, interest in him is nothing new. The likes of Arsenal and Juventus wanted to sign the player way back in 2016 when he was still a teenager at Partizan Belgrade. However, a move did not materialize.

Vlahovic’s stock has continued to rise since he moved to Italy. In the 2020/21 Serie A campaign, he scored 21 goals and 2 assists for Fiorentina. It now remains to be seen if Liverpool are willing to meet the £50.8million valuation.
