Liverpool keen on a move for Aurelien Tchouameni this summer

According to Corriere Dello Sport (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool are interested in signing 21-year-old Aurelien Tchouameni from Monaco this summer.

Jurgen Klopp and co. are aiming to sign a central midfielder this summer after the departure of Gini Wijnaldum, who left to join Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.

Although Liverpool already have the likes of Thiago Alcantara, Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Curtis Jones, Naby Keita, and Harvey Elliot in their midfield line, they are keen on bolstering their midfield. The injuries of Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara last season were a cause of worry for Liverpool, and the Reds are keen on bringing some cover.

Liverpool, however, are not the only ones interested in signing Tchouameni this summer, with Italian giants Juventus also being keen on securing the player’s services.

Monaco are ready to let go of the Frenchman this summer if somebody does end up offering their asking price of £25million. Tchouameni made 36 Ligue 1 appearances last season and scored 2 goals and provided 4 assists.

Liverpool have only signed Ibrahima Konate this summer, and the Merseyside outfit have seen their rivals strengthen massively in turn. Manchester City have signed Jack Grealish while they are also in the market to sign Harry Kane.

Manchester United and Chelsea have also achieved success in the market by signing players like Jadon Sancho and Romelu Lukaku respectively.

While Liverpool do have a terrific frontline in Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, and Diogo Jota, they do need cover in the midfield, something they are hoping Tchouameni could provide this season.
