Liverpool ace Mohammed Salah breaks yet another Premier League record
According to the Irish Mirror, Liverpool forward Mohammed Salah has broken another Premier League record after scoring the third goal in the club’s victory against Norwich.
With his goal against the Canaries, Salah has become the only player in Premier League history to have scored on the opening day of five consecutive seasons. The Egyptian signed for the Reds in the summer of 2017 and has been in incredible form since then.
The goal was not his only involvement on the day as he also set up both Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino for the other two goals in Liverpool’s 3-0 victory.
This was also the 100th different Liverpool game where the Egyptian managed to score, showing his consistency for the club over the years. The forward started this record when he scored against Watford on his Premier League debut back in August 2017.
He continued it in the following year by scoring in the club’s first game of the season against West Ham in 2018. Norwich were not targeted by Salah for the first time yesterday as he also scored against them in 2019 on the first day of the new season.
Before yesterday, Salah shared the record of scoring on the opening day of four consecutive seasons with Teddy Sheringham, something he achieved when he scored a hat-trick against Leeds United at the start of last season.

However, the Egyptian has now broken the record, while this is also not the first Premier League record he has broken in his five years at the club. Salah broke the record of most goals in a 38-game Premier League season as he scored 32 Premier League goals in his debut season.
The 28-year-old will now shift his attention to next Saturday as Liverpool face Burnley at Anfield as the Reds look to secure their second victory of the season.
