Liverpool yet to bid for Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez
Spanish outlet AS via Inside Futbol (h/t Liverpool Echo), have reported the latest development in the Liverpool and Saul Niguez saga. The player has been often linked to the Reds. However, the report states that Atletico Madrid are yet to receive any bids for Saul.
It adds that the midfielder’s future at the Spanish capital is up. Atletico are looking to sell him after the arrival of Rodrigo de Paul.
Apart from Liverpool, Saul has been linked to Barcelona and Manchester United in recent weeks. The report suggests that the player’s agent is pushing for a Liverpool move. Despite all of this, Atletico Madrid have not received a single bid for the 26-year-old. Atletico believe that player could leave during the latter stages of the transfer window.
Should Liverpool bid for Niguez?
The 26-year-old is coming off a La Liga winning season. Saul made 33 appearances in the title-winning season for Atletico Madrid.

The Reds are yet to replace Gini Wijnaldum. The availability of Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita could prompt the club to not sign one. However, both players have struggled with injuries. Counting on their fitness could cost Jurgen Klopp’s men their ambitions.
Hence, someone like Saul could be a useful signing in that aspect. He is yet to hit prime and could be a handy player to have.
