Injury Update: Liverpool defender Andy Robertson returns to training after ankle injury
According to an update from Daily Star, Liverpool star Andy Robertson has returned to training, just days after his ankle injury. It was assumed that the issue was serious and would keep him out for a significant amount of time. However, the club posted an image of him jogging to allay any fears.
One could forgive Liverpool for feeling a case of deja vu when Robertson injured his ankle during the preseason friendly against Athletic Bilbao. After all, the severe injury crisis of last season pretty much damaged the performances for the most part of the campaign. So with Robertson rolling his ankle and being taken off, there were genuine fears.
Subsequently, Robertson was not seen in the season opener against Norwich and there was a bit of wait to see how long he would be ruled out. In his stead, Kostas Tsimikas was handed a start and the Greek star impressed against Norwich as Liverpool put them to the sword.
However, it would seem that there is indeed an optimistic update on Robertson. The Scot did not require surgery but was still expected to be out for some time. However, it seems as if he is already back in training within a week. The club posted an image of him jogging. Nonetheless, he will miss the clash against Burnley as he trains alone.
