Liverpool youngster Curtis Jones talks about his goal and result against Brentford
Midfielder Curtis Jones conversed with Liverpoolfc.com and shared his opinions on the goal and result against Brentford on Saturday.
Curtis Jones made his first start for the Reds in this Premier League campaign on Saturday against Brentford. The youngster had a huge impact on the game as he scored the third goal for Liverpool. It felt as though that was enough to clinch 3 points for the Merseyside team but a fine lob by Yoane Wissa towards the end of the game meant that the match ended in a draw.
The young midfielder spoke up on his goal against the Bees
“I got the ball and came inside and it opened up, so I saw the goal and I just hit it. I was fortunate enough that it went in,”
The 20-year-old midfielder was impressive throughout the game. We could see more of the youngster this season with Harvey Elliot suffering a horrendous injury against Leeds. The academy product played a crucial part in what turned out to be a six-goal thriller against the Bees.
Both teams went toe to toe with each other and Brentford showed a lot of heart to earn a point against the 2019 Premier League winners. Jones spoke about his disappointment at not being able to seal the match.
“But I’m disappointed that we never came away with all three points and we’ll definitely be going for them for the next game. “
