Transfer News: Liverpool are set to renew their interest in Italian winger Federico Chiesa
According to transfer news from Calciomercato (Daily Mail), Liverpool are set to reignite their interest in Juventus winger Federico Chiesa.
The 23-year-old winger has become an important part of Juventus since he joined the club last year. The Italian is currently on loan from Fiorentina and Juventus are ready to make the move permanent for £35m with £8.5m in add ons.
Juventus have struggled to reach their former heights since Cristiano Ronaldo left. The Italian side is currently 9th in the Serie A table. They grabbed their first win earlier this week against Spezia, in which Chiesa scored.
Following his exploits with Juve and the Italy national team, Chiesa has grabbed the eyeballs of European giants from across the globe. Premier League rivals Chelsea reportedly offered Juventus £86million for the services of the youngster in the summer but were met with rejection.
Juventus have made their stance of not selling the talented winger very clear as Liverpool and Bayern Munich have also shown considerable interest in the Italian international
The 23-year-old could provide great reinforcement to the Liverpool attack line but would have to fight hard to displace the likes of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah on the wings. That being said he would also bring healthy competition to that position as Mane witnessed a decline in form last season.
Another addition in the wings would also give Jurgen Klopp the ability to rotate his squad to preserve the fitness of the key players in the team.

If Chiesa made the move to Anfield it would add a lot of depth to the squad. That would be a great thing with Liverpool’s injury record in the last couple of seasons. Despite these reports, it is highly unlikely that Juventus will let the youngster move away from the Allianz Stadium.
