Jordan Henderson could achieve new milestone with Liverpool in Champions League clash vs Porto
Liverpool midfielder and captain Jordan Henderson could make his 400th appearance for the club across all competitions in the Champions League clash against Porto.
The 31-year-old midfielder has been an instrumental part of Liverpool’s midfield ever since his arrival from Sunderland. The English international has shown great mentality and ability to lead this Merseyside team to several titles such as UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup. He also led this squad to its first league title after three decades.
Jordan Henderson would complete 400 appearances for the club if he starts against Porto in their upcoming Champions League clash. The midfielder had to endure some criticism during his early years at the club but he has proved his naysayers wrong with his performances in the last few years.
Henderson has stepped up to the plate on the big occasions for the Reds. He scored an exquisite goal against AC Milan in their opening match of the CL campaign to clinch all three points. His experience in the middle of the pitch has been a great asset to the club in good times and bad.
If the England midfielder starts the game today then he would become the 27th player in Liverpool’s history to play 400 games for the club. This would also make him only the 14th player in the club’s book to play 60 European games.
