The Egyptian winger has become instrumental in the Merseysiders’ attacking line-up. He reached another milestone when he scored Liverpool’s second goal against Brentford. The forward put the ball past David Raya’s net from an amazing through ball by Fabinho and that strike against the Bees made him the fastest player to reach 100 Premier League goals for the Reds.
Former Manchester United player Rio Ferdinand has shared his thoughts on why the Liverpool forward should be considered amongst the best in the world:
“He’s an absolute killer. So when you’re talking about the best strikers, the best attackers in world football over the last couple of years, Salah has to be in the conversation. Go and watch Salah and what he does. He dominates and destroys top-level players on a regular basis. He makes the game look easy, he makes football look easy.”
The 29-year-old forward has joined an elite list of attackers to reach 100 PL goals. He has made a great impact at Anfield ever since his arrival from AS Roma in 2017. The winger has made it a routine affair to break records.
Jurgen Klopp has transformed this Liverpool attack into a feared trio throughout Europe. Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino may not have been scoring at a scary rate anymore but Salah has performed consistently for the Reds on the big stage.
The winger has cemented his place amongst the best goal scorers in the Premier League. Ferdinand also highlighted another important aspect regarding his positioning and ability:
“He’s the fifth quickest to 100 Premier League goals in history, and the biggest fact of all that is he’s a wide player. He’s a wide striker, he’s not an actual out-and-out number nine.”
The former Chelsea player has started this season in a great manner by scoring 5 goals and providing 2 assists in the first 6 PL games of this season.
