Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool nominated for the Premier League awards
Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp from Liverpool have been nominated for Premier League Player of the Month and Premier League Manager of the Month award respectively for the month of September.
The Egyptian winger has found himself on the scoresheet in his last 3 PL appearances for the Merseyside team. He went on to break another milestone when he scored against Brentford in their last fixture.
Fabinho lobbed a beautiful ball to see Mohamed Salah slot it past David Raya in goal against the Bees. That strike was the 29-year-old forward’s 100th Premier League goal for the Merseysiders. The Reds are currently on top of the PL table and the Egyptian winger has played an important part in their current campaign.
The former Basel player is up against Joao Cancelo (Manchester City), Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United), Antonio Rudiger (Chelsea), Allan Saint-Maximin (Newcastle United), and Ismaila Sarr (Watford) in the race to secure the Player of the Month prize.
Jurgen Klopp’s importance at the helm
Jurgen Klopp is another instrumental part of the puzzle at Anfield. The 54-year-old manager is on the shortlist for the PL manager of the month. The passionate German has been pivotal to Liverpool’s success in recent times.
Despite limited transfer activity he has rotated his squad well and managed to stay unbeaten in the English League this season. Injury scares to players like Thiago Alcantara and Harvey Elliott have made his job as the manager even tougher. This Merseyside team have had to witness a hectic schedule yet the boss has managed to keep his squad in great shape and spirit.
Klopp will have to face off against Mikel Arteta (Arsenal), Pep Guardiola (Manchester City), Graham Potter (Brighton & Hove Albion), and Dean Smith (Aston Villa) for the Premier League manager of the month title.
