Liverpool target Dusan Vlahovic offered mega-contract by Fiorentina to repel interest from other clubs
According to Daily Mirror, Fiorentina are offering Liverpool target Dusan Vlahovic a £35million five-year-long contract to fend off interest from other clubs.
The 21-year-old striker has become an instrumental part of Fiorentina’s attacking lineup. The Serbian striker has scored 21 goals in 37 matches in Serie A for the Italian club last season. The youngster has continued his rich vein of form by bagging 6 goals in 7 games across all competitions for the Serie A club in the early stages of the season.
His form has made him hot property in the footballing world and Arsenal are also said to hold a keen interest in the youngster. The Serbian international’s current deal runs with Fiorentina runs until 2023. That being said, there could be a significant reduction in his price tag next summer.
The Italian club are trying their best to tie the player down to the club and have also offered him one of the best deals in the history of their club.
Fiorentina President Rocco Commisso made his thoughts known on the current contract negotiations with the player:
“I told Dusan that he is taking a huge risk not signing this deal. We are offering him a five-year contract worth €40million (£35m). I had to work a whole year to earn what he would in two or three days. I don’t know how football reached this stage.”
Dusan Vlahovic would certainly be a useful addition to Jurgen Klopp’s squad. He could go on to become a long-term asset for the Merseyside team and his inclusion would also mean healthy competition for the striker’s role at Anfield.
Apart from that, the 21-year-old striker could help the Liverpool boss add more depth to his attacking options. This would not only help them compete in several competitions but also preserve the fitness of some of the key players in this team.
The forward lineup of the Merseysiders is feared all across Europe but the performances of Roberto Firmino have witnessed a fluctuation recently. A young lethal striker in their ranks would create healthier competition as well as provide a long-term option in that position for the German manager.
