Transfer News: Liverpool could show increasing interest in signing ACF Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic
According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool could take a serious interest in ACF Fiorentina youngster Dusan Vlahovic.
It is claimed that the 21-year-old striker could cost £64million but the Reds are keen on getting the young striker to bolster their forward lineup. The Serbian international has scored 35 goals and provided 5 assists in 92 matches across all competitions for the Italian club.
Fiorentina were willing to offer Vlahovic a bumper contract that could make him the highest-earning player in the history of the club. His current contract with the club runs until 2023 which means that the player could be available for a reduced price next summer.
The Reds have built the core foundation of their team on an attacking style of play. The forward trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane have played an instrumental part in Liverpool’s success in the last few years.
Despite this feared attack a hectic schedule combined with a fluctuation in Firmino’s form and age factor, the Merseysiders would be looking to add a young striker within their ranks. Dusan Vlahovic’s addition could help bring some youthful vigour into Jurgen Klopp’s team and also give the manager a chance to rotate his squad and preserve the fitness of his key players.
The 54-year-old manager has not been shy of giving deserving youngsters a chance to prove their worth in Liverpool’s first squad and this could be a big step up for the 21-year-old Serbian striker.

The youngster may find it hard to acclimatize himself to the style of football played in England’s top flight but Vlahovic could also be a great future torchbearer for the club if things are smooth enough. That being said, there is no confirmation of any such move yet but the Reds will be smart to keenly monitor his situation.
