Transfer News: Liverpool could step up their interest in Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Adama Traoré
According to El Nacional via Sportsmole (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool could ramp up their interest in 25-year-old Wolverhampton Wanderer winger Adama Traore.
The Spanish professional footballer has made a name for himself with his pace and dribbling skills. With that in mind, the winger has struggled with consistency in the last couple of seasons as Wolves are currently in 12th position in the Premier League table at the moment.
The 25-year-old forward has failed to score a single goal in 9 appearances this season. Despite these statistics, Traore has shown from time to time that he is capable of delivering something spectacular.
Jurgen Klopp also spoke about the special abilities that Adama Traore posses, stating hisc omments back in January 2020 after a tough 2-1 victory against Wolves:
“He is unplayable in moments, it’s unbelievable. What a player – it’s not only him but he’s so good.”
There has been a substantial change at Molineux stadium after Nuno Espirito Santo left the club to coach Tottenham Hotspur. The club is in a transitory phase and that could also be one of the major reasons why Traore hasn’t managed to reach great heights this season.
The 25-year-old winger could be a welcome addition to Liverpool’s squad as it would give Klopp the option to rotate his attackers and preserve the fitness of the key players. There is also an uncertainly looming around the long-term future of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah at the club. The Reds could thus be looking to bring in suitable backup options in the given positions.
Traore has the experience of playing in the Premier League and that should suit him well if he is to make the switch to Anfield like former teammate Diogo Jota who is slowly cementing his place as a regular starter in this team.

Any move for the Wolves winger is only speculation at the moment but the 54-year-old manager could welcome such an exciting addition to his team and has already taken heed of his abilities in the past.
