Liverpool star Thiago Alcantara posted a fitness update on social media ahead of the clash against Watford
According to Liverpool Echo, Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara has provided an injury update through a social media post which shows him in the recovery phase. Thiago had suffered a calf problem in a match against Crystal Palace during the second half.
Jurgen Klopp later confirmed that the midfielder would only be available after the international break. The injury saw the 30-year-old miss the Nations League knockout stage for Spain.
With the Premier League returning this weekend, the Merseyside club are set to face Watford in an away fixture. Thiago missed Tuesday’s training session but he posted on social media that he is set to return soon.
The former Barcelona midfielder was bought from Bayern for an initial fee of £20 million. The Spaniard previously won a Champions League, seven Bundesliga titles, four DFB-Pokal, one UEFA Super Cup and three DFL-Super Cup during his time in Germany.
In an Instagram story, the Spanish international posted an image of him exercising indicating his recovery going smoothly. However, it is unlikely that he would be fully recovered before the Watford game.
One thing to note is that he could make it for the full training session which is yet to take place. If he does make it in time for the full training period, there is a chance that he could get some minutes at Vicarage Road.

With Fabinho unlikely to make the game due to his national team duty, Klopp would be hoping that Thiago would be available in some manner. The German would be given a boost in the form of Curtis Jones, who overcame an injury scare.
Liverpool are set to face Atletico Madrid and Manchester United following the Watford game. Thiago’s recovery would be a huge boon as his quality can be of great help against tougher opponents.
