Sadio Mane speaks out about his tough time at Liverpool and gives his opinion on Mohamed Salah
Talking to the Liverpool Echo, Sadio Mane has opened up on the rough patch he had to endure last season at Liverpool while also gives his thoughts on teammate Mohamed Salah.
He also praised his teammates’ sensational form following yet another incredible solo goal, this time at Vicarage Road. Salah and Mane recently became the latest additions to the 100 goal club of African players in the Premier League.
The duo has been outstanding and has played a major role in the Reds’ positive start to the campaign. They both scored a goal each in their 5-0 thumping of Watford that saw Liverpool keep pace with Chelsea at the top.
Mane is coming off a 2020/21 season that saw him struggle to put up his best. He has now opened up on the demons he faced and explains how he has since overcome them. He was keen to figure out what he was doing wrong and took proactive steps to ensure he reached the root of the issue.
“It was hard for myself but it was hard for the team and sometimes that’s normal but that’s all behind us now.”
Earlier, the 29-year-old had admitted that last season was the worst of his playing career. He further made comments on Salah and said that he was not surprised by the Egyptian king’s success.
“Of course, I think it is you guys who are surprised – but not me because we all know his quality”

Mane swept aside last season’s crisis by scoring his sixth goal of the season against the Hornets. The Merseyside club would be hoping that the forward would continue this form as they look to improve on last season.
