The records that Liverpool broke in the 5-0 thrashing of Manchester United

Mohamed Salah stands out as Liverpool break not just Manchester United hearts but also club records

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool team defeated Manchester United by a score of 5-0at the weekend. It was a statement if there ever was any.

Other than breaking the record for the biggest win at the stadium in 96 years, the Reds broke several other records on one night. Perhaps, most of them were courtesy of their talisman, Mohamed Salah

The highlight for Liverpool’s win last night was the hat-trick scored by the Egyptian king. Salah now stands alone in the elite category of African footballers who have starred for Premier League teams.

Salah keeps writing himself into Liverpool history books.

Salah (107 goals) has now overtaken Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba (104 goals) as the highest African scorer in the Premier League. Impressively, he has taken 89 lesser games than the former Ivory Coast international to achieve this feat.

The 29-year old became the first Liverpool player to score in 10 straight games for the club. The Liverpool forward has also scored in three consecutive visits to Old Trafford in all competition, making him the first to achieve the feat.

He is now the only second Liverpool player after Sam Raybould(1902/03) ever to score in his team’s first five away league games of a season.  Salah is also now the second

Liverpool player after Robert Howe(1936) to score a hat-trick at Old Trafford.

He has also become the first away player to score a hat-trick at Old Trafford since Ronaldo Nazario at the Champions League 2003.

Jurgen Klopp has extended his legacy as a Reds legend as he has become the quickest Liverpool manager to reach 200 wins for the club.

The Reds look unstoppable at the moment and are yet unbeaten this season. If this keeps up, they will take some stopping.
