Liverpool target Jude Bellingham admits he is happy at Borussia Dortmund
According to The Bild (h/t Liverpool Echo), English sensation Jude Bellingham is happy to stay at German club Borussia Dortmund amid speculation linking him with a move to 19-time Premier League champions Liverpool.
The 18-year-old sensation has been a revelation for both Dortmund and England. His performances have attracted attention from Liverpool who will need an infusion of youth in their midfield. He however appears to be happy at the Westfalenstadion.
Bellingham still has four years left at Dortmund. Club director Michael Zorc has also come out and poured cold water on any Liverpool’s hopes of signing him.
Talking to Sports Bild (h/t Daily Mail), Zorc said:
“When we signed Jude last year, many top clubs were interested in him. He made a conscious decision in favour of Borussia Dortmund and the concept that we presented to him. His development in Dortmund is far from over.”
The player believes he can develop further in Germany and could very well end up staying for at least another year. Whether the Reds can change his mind remains to be seen.
Earlier, last month Bellingham himself also got involved in a little banter on social media. In a tweet that has since been deleted, Bellingham reacted to a social media post claiming that he had told people he would be joining Liverpool by posting a GIF of himself laughing.
Even the player’s father responded publicly to the reports. Mark Bellingham described the gossip as ‘really disappointing‘ and disputed the credibility of any speculation, suggesting that both Jude and his family see his immediate future at Dortmund, before then also deleting his tweet.
There is little to suggest that Liverpool are any closer to signing Bellingham today than they were yesterday. But then it is unlikely that the inner working of a potential deal would be made public just yet.

Having already lost Jadon Sancho to Manchester United and with many clubs interested in Erling Haaland as well – Dortmund will be hoping to keep Bellingham for the near future.
The teenager has developed well at the club and has the necessary facilities to take his game to the next level. However, it remains to be seen if he will be keen to stay put if Haaland decides to move on next summer.
