Transfer Update: Liverpool close in on signing Torino star Gleison Bremer
According to Torino Granata (h/t Liverpoolecho), Liverpool closing in to capture the signing of the Torino centre-half Gleison Bremer.
The Brazilian has become a key player for the Italians and is one of the most consistent defenders in Serie A since the past few seasons. This season he has helped keep three clean sheets in 11 games so far.
Apart from his ability on the ball, Bremer’s physicality has become a standout characteristic of his playing style. The defender missed very few games in the past three seasons due to injury, an excellent statistic for Liverpool who have lost key players to injuries in the recent past.
Liverpool has been linked with a move for the defender for a long time now. After the injury disaster the Mersyside team faced last season, they targetted Bremer. But they ended up signing Ibrahima Konaté from RB Leipzig earlier this summer.
Joe Gomez also recently returned from a long time injury, and Jurgen Klopp felt his absence last season. The German manager will benefit from adding a less injury-prone defender in to his roster, keeping in mind his recent experiences.
It is believed that the new Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte was interested in bringing the player to the Premier League. They were looking to cut a £9million deal with Torino for the Brazilian defender but Liverpool look set to play spoilsport.

An addition of Bremer could give Klopp new avenus to explore going forward.
