Liverpool keen on former Championship ace impressing in La Liga

Transfer News: Liverpool keen to land Villarreal star Arnaut Danjuma

According to Fabrizio Romano (h/t Mirror), Liverpool could target Arnaut Danjuma as a backup for Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are set to take part in the Africa Cup of Nations, which will take place in January. Their absence could become a concern seeing their contribution to Liverpool’s success.

Liverpool target Arnaut Danjuma in action for former club Club Brugge.

Of the 31 goals that the Reds scored this season, 16 are scored

by the African duo. They have become the flag bearers of the attacking department of Jurgen Klopp’s team.

The German manager wouldn’t have any option but to find backups as he focuses on fighting for the Premier League title in January. However, the lack of dependable backups could prove to be an issue.

Arnaut Danjuma has the experience of playing in the Premier League he played for Bournemouth.

In his podcast ‘Here We Go’, the Italian journalist talked about the key areas Liverpool would focus on in the next transfer window due to the absence of the key players.

“This is why they are looking for wingers I’m told, wingers more than midfielders, but let’s see if they are able to find the right player.”

Danjuma certainly fits the bill. The Villarreal forward has started the campaign with an incredible conversion rate. He has scored seven goals and provided two assists in 15 games

 across all competition.

“I’m curious to see who that will be; for example, I’m told that Danjuma, of Villarreal, the former Bournemouth player, is doing fantastic.”

But it is believed that the Merseyside are closely following the situation for the right opportunity. The Dutchman would be an excellent investment indeed.

For the time being, the Yellow Submarines are not keen to sell. It seems ‘Villarreal have no intention of opening talks in January’ as they aim to hold onto a critical player while competing for the Spanish title.

Klopp could use the 24-years-old Dutch player as a viable option in the forward department if the Reds complete their pursuit.
