Liverpool Academy among the most profitable institutions in Europe

Liverpool Academy is the 11th most profitable talent producer in Europe

According to research conducted by Online Money Advisor (h/t Liverpool Echo), the Liverpool academy is one of the most beneficial in England. The talents coming through the ranks have netted the club much in the last few years.

The Reds have an excellent academy whose infrastructure is on par with some of Europe’s biggest talent producing clubs. Financially this has become a massive advantage for the Reds, who have acquired £104.8million in transfer fees for academy graduates since 2010.

The sale of Raheem Sterling to Manchester City has brought huge money.

The hefty chunk came in 2015 from the selling of Raheem Sterling to Manchester City. The English player has become a sensation at Manchester City, winning 11 titles in six years. 

The other top fice most profitable sales are Jordan Ibe, Harry Wilson, Ryan Kent and Rafael Camacho, who graduated from The Kirkby academy.  The Merseyside team currently stands in the 3rd position in the most profitable clubs.

Manchester City are the frontrunners gathering £122m in academy players’ sales. Aston Villa has the second most with £110m. Chelsea ranks fourth after Liverpool in the table with £92.8m. Arsenal, being 5th, generated £74.3m profit. Manchester United stand in the 10th position with £42.5m followed by Everton with £38.3m

Not only in England, but The Reds are also one of the most successful teams in terms of academy player sales in whole Europe. Currently, they stand 11th on the European list for the last 11 years. They are overtaken by Ajax (£213m), Atletico Madrid (£184.2m), Lyon (£135.2m), Barcelona (£128.1m) and Borussia Dortmund (£110.8m).

The Liverpool board put £50m in the AXA Training Center, which opened last November. The new training centre has allowed the first team and youth sides to train at the same location.

The brand new training centre could become a good source for them in the future. Not only in the player sale, but it could also produce some future talents who could become key players in the team.
