According to Gerard Romero (h/t Express), Barcelona are the front runners to sign Liverpool target Karim Adeyemi

The young German has become a sensation in the Austrian Bundesliga with his electrifying performances. Furthermore, he stands on the top of the table as the league’s highest scorer with 15 goals in 14 matches.

Still, only 19, the player has attracted attention from some of Europe’s elite teams. He is still developing as a player and his terrifying potential is clear for all to see.

Liverpool target Karim Adeyemi is closing to Camp Nou.

This is only the youngster’s third season in the Austrian league. However one would think of him as a seasoned veteran given his consistently eye-catching performances. Furthermore, he has also received his maiden call-up from the German national team. 

Liverpool took an interest in signing the young prospect recently. The Reds will need to rebuild their prolific frontline in the years to come and Adeyemi represents an excellent option.

Liverpool’s central striker Roberto Firmino’s performance has been volatile for the past few seasons. However, the partnership of the world-class front-three has covered up for on the pitch. But looking at the long time future, Jurgen Klopp would need to find fresh viable options.

New Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez could however play spoilsport. he is keen to kickstart his recruitment drive at the Nou Camp with the signing of Adeyemi.

The Austrian team has put up a price tag of £31million for the young prospect.  It seems Barcelona are planning to pay the amount in January and are closing on a deal to sign the former FC Bayern Münch youth player. 

Xavi is looking to reform the club by making a stronger squad. Meanwhile, he has already started his work by signing club legend Dani Alves. He would look to form a mixture of talent and experience to rejuvenate the Catalan club’s stature on the pitch. 

Liverpool are not yet out of the running. Whether the Reds will once again pull one out of the hat and come out trumps remains to be seen.
