Leeds United reveal their price tag for Raphinha amid Liverpool interest

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano (h/t Liverpool Echo), Leeds United have valued Liverpool target Raphinha at a staggering £60m.

The Brazilian has been putting consistent performance for a Leeds team, that has largely flattered to deceive this season. He has started the 2021/22 campaign in incredible fashion scoring five goals in 11 games

Liverpool have targetted the forward in the past. It seems the Reds have now rekindled their interest in the 24-year-old Brazilian. He won’t come cheap as the Peacocks want at least £60m for his transfer.

Liverpool have one of the most potent frontlines in world football. All the three regular forwards have crossed the 29-year-old age mark. Even though it’s not a problem keeping Jurgen Klopp awake at night, it could create more significant threats in the future.

The injury crisis took the chance away from Liverpool to defend their Premier League title last season. It outlines the need for strength in depth across key areas of the team.

Liverpool have been keeping a tab on the Brazilian player for some time.

Signing Raphinha would be an excellent opportunity for the Merseyside team to increase the depth in the current squad and make an eye-catching future investment. But the high valuation from Leeds could become a barrier in the deal.

The Reds board have tended to opt for low-cost alternatives in the market, and they are known to pick players before they become superstars. Thus, the Reds have avoided splashing big money on transfers. It’d be interesting to see the reaction from the board on Raphinha’s case.

Even though Jurgen Klopp’s team decides to go for the forward, it wouldn’t be a lousy investment looking at the quality and growth the winger has shown in recent times.
