Liverpool are keen on signing Sheffield United forward Daniel Jebbison
According to TEAMtalk (h/t Mirror), Liverpool are among the handful of clubs keeping a tab on England U19 star Daniel Jebbison.
The teenager gained recognition after scoring a winner for the Blades against Everton in May. Despite going on a loan move to League One side Burton Albion, the 18-year-old has impressed everyone with his sheer attacking intent and goalscoring abilities.
His age coupled with the massive potential on display has made him a key target for the top clubs. The sky is the limit should he go on to fulfill his promise.
It is believed that Liverpool showed interest in signing the prospect. While it might be too early to expect him to break into the first team, it can lay the foundations for him to succeed Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah in due course.
While it will not take a small fortune for the Reds to land their man, Sheffield could very well ask for a compensation fee for the talent they help produce. It should however only prove to be a shot in the arm if Jebbison goes on to achieve great things in red.
Competition for the youngster is high with a number of clubs keeping tabs on his signature. Clubs such as West Ham United, Everton, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are all interested in the youngster.
With Liverpool’s famed front three either close to or already hitting 30, succession plans have to be drawn up. It’s time for the board to inject some fresh blood to make the team’s future secure.
