Transfer News: Real Madrid unwilling to sell Rodrygo amid Liverpool interest

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano (h/t Liverpool Echo), Real Madrid are set to begin renewal talks with Liverpool target Rodrygo

The Brazilian is today one of Real’s best players. He has shown awe-inspiring skills and continues to become a difficult man to mark with every passing game. His conversion rate is low regarding goals and assists; however, that hasn’t stopped the previous manager Zinedine Zidane or new manager Carlo Ancelotti to put their faith in him.

The 20-year-old scored two times and assisted three more in 20 appearances for the Los Blancos. While the numbers can pick up, his all-ound game continues to evolve.

Rodrygo arrived signed for Real Madrid in 2019 from Santos.

Liverpool has shown interest in the youngster in recent times. However, it is believed that the Merseyside team haven’t submitted an official bid. Nevertheless, Real are intending to keep hold of their player and are preparing to table a renewal deal in the coming months.

The Reds front line has been quite successful in recent times. As a matter of fact, Jurgen Klopp’s team has scored the most number of goals in this season. However, there are speculations on the future of critical forward players.

Liverpool’s African duo- Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, are both closing on the end of their term at Anfield. However, the Reds board haven’t been able to tie them down to a new contract in recent months. Even though Jurgen Klopp’s team would try their best to convince them otherwise, the probability still exists that they can leave for free in the summer of 2023.

Rodrygo could become a long term solution for Liverpool’s forward option.

It would be difficult for any current goalscorer to take the place of any of the African players. Therefore, The board should prepare beforehand. Nevertheless, it’s better to be equipped with viable alternatives for the worst-case scenario.

Rodrygo has shown his creativity in the Spanish League. Even though the Brazilian youngster isn’t physically immense or the quickest, he has demonstrated exceptional dribbling skills that would come in handy at Anfield. Even if Salah and Mane decide to stay, the Real forward could bolster the forward line-up options at Anfield.
