Manchester City face a hurdle in their pursuit of Liverpool target Erling Haaland
According to Sport (h/t Liverpoolecho), the weak relationship between Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and the agent of Erling Haaland, Mino Raiola, could affect City’s approach to sign Liverpool target Erling Haaland.
The Norwegian has become a claimant of the moniker of one of the best strikers in the world. Despite suffering an injury earlier this season, The Dortmund forward has been sensational for Borussia Dortmund this season.
Haaland has already bagged 17 goals and five assists in 14 matches. Currently, he is the third top scorer in the Bundesliga and continues to enhance his reputation game by game.
Many heavyweights have been linked with Haaland in recent times. Furthermore, his agent Mino Raiola has been fueling the transfer market with his comments in recent times. Last week, the Italian agent named a few clubs as the possible destination for Haaland among them, Manchester City, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
However, it is believed that Pep Guardiola’s team are not ‘much interested’ in the BVB forward, and it is improbable that they would go after his signature. The possible reason is the weak relationship between the veteran manager and the super agent, Raiola.
This could become a massive advantage for Liverpool, who has been targeting the 21-year-old forward for some time.
The Reds have been fortunate enough to have one of the most threatening front three in the world. However, in recent seasons, Roberto Firmino hasn’t reached the level of a top-class performer.

Haaland has proved his aggressiveness and goal-scoring hunger in the top tournaments in the world. The youngster could become a viable alternative for Roberto Firmino. Even though the Brazilian still ranks in the list of top strikers, competition would see him scale better heights.
More so, in Haaland, Klopp could get himself an infallible scorer who can lead the line for years to come.
