“Constant threat”- Jurgen Klopp launches Covid vaccination warning for Liverpool transfer targets

Jurgen Klopp against signing Liverpool transfer targets who are unvaccinated

According to the Mirror, Jurgen Klopp has suggested that potential new arrivals who are unvaccinated are a threat to his Liverpool side.

Covid-19 has ravaged the Premier League in the last few weeks. More than six matches have been postponed, and many players remain self-isolated after testing positive. The deadly virus is again dictating the play, and it has had very damaging consequences.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been vocal about the vaccination concerns between Premier League players.

The Liverpool squad has also been affected by the Coronavirus surge. Thiago Alcantara, Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho and Curtis Jones all missed the Reds’ League game against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. It is believed that club captain Jordan Henderson was ill and had to be rested.

Amidst such a scenario, Jurgen Klopp has a very straightforward message for the players eyeing to join Liverpool. The German manager said that vaccination would play a huge role when it comes to choosing transfer targets in the coming window.

“We are not close to signing a player, but, yes, it would be influential, definitely. If a player is not vaccinated at all, he is a constant threat for all of us.”

The former Dortmund manager also pointed out

the difficulties the whole team have to face if even one unvaccinated player come to the squad.

“He has to change in a different dressing room; he has to eat in a different dining room; he has to sit in a different bus; he has to drive in a different car.”

Klopp has been very supportive of vaccination in recent weeks. Furthermore, the German manager has been transparent with his team’s news regarding the covid surge.

The recent comments clearly suggest that from now on, the Reds board would consider vaccination details as a part of negotiations with potential transfer targets.

This could be a good move considering the devastating situation. With the increase of vaccination rate, players will be less vulnerable to Coronavirus, and the Covid chain could break if not become more manageable.
