Transfer News: 13-goal striker reluctant to move to PL amid Liverpool interest

Erling Haaland reluctant to move to the Premier League amid Liverpool interest

According to transfer specialist Gianluca Di Marzio via Wettfreuende (h/t Liverpool Echo), a move to La Liga could be the ‘dream transfer’ for Erling Haaland despite interest from Liverpool.

Erling Haaland has been one of the best young forwards in the world. The 21-year-old is currently the 3rd highest-scorer in Bundesliga despite missing several matches due to injury earlier this season. The Norwegian forward has netted 13 goals and provided 4 assists in 11 league games, which is absolutely breathtaking for players of his age group.

Haaland has attracted a lot of interest from top teams lately. Liverpool have been heavily linked with the forward in recent times. But it seems like the Reds would find it difficult to convince the Norwegian forward to move to the Premier League.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Haaland doesn’t have an interest in the Premier League. The Norwegian forward prefers to play in La Liga or stay at the Bundesliga club instead. Even If the 21-year-old decides to leave Dortmund, Barcelona and Real Madrid would have the upper hand to lure him.

Liverpool’s forwards had a disappointing night yesterday against Leicester. The strikers failed to capitalize on many occasions, which cost Reds valuable three points. One could argue that it was only a bad day in the office. However, to win the title, Jurgen Klopp’s team have to win such challenging games, and a player like Haaland could make a massive difference when we struggle to break the deadlock.

Haaland has an imposing physique and makes his presence felt inside the box. On top of that, he can run with the ball at his feet and his finishing ability is there for all to see. Going by his performances in the last few years, it is safe to label him as a goal machine.

But if he isn’t interested in a move to the PL, there is only so much we can do. Haaland would not be the cheapest signing we’ve ever made. We would have to part ways with notable funds if we desire his services.

There can be a case made regarding our need for a striker, but if Haaland proves unattainable, we are better off focusing our attention somewhere else with the knowledge that we could use a lethal striker in our ranks.
