Liverpool monitoring Olympiacos star Aguibou Camara

According to Calciomercato (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool are ‘monitoring’ Guinean midfielder Aguibou Camara. The 20-year-old has attracted the attention of Liverpool and AC Milan thanks to his performances for Greek giants Olympiacos.

If the interest in the attacking midfielder is genuine, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp would be making a shrewd move by snapping up Camara. The attacking midfielder would make a fine addition to Klopp’s squad, which already boasts of several high-profile African talents.

For the price quoted, the Reds would be able to sign a youngster who has scored five times and provided four assists for Olympiacos in the Greek Super League and Greek CupThe Reds have made some excellent signings on the cheap in recent times and Camara certainly appears to fit that list.

Liverpool could see the Olympiacos star as someone for the future, and learn from some of the world’s best in fellow African forwards Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane. Klopp’s side does not currently boast of a player who plays a convincing role as an attacking midfielder or a No. 10.

With Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s form erratic and attack-minded Takumi Minamino making more of an impact from the bench, Liverpool needs someone who can take charge of the midfield and drive the team forward. In Aguibou Camara, they may finally have that missing link.
