Arrivabene confirms 28-year-old Liverpool target will not renew his contract in Turin

Transfer News: Paulo Dybala will leave Juventus this summer amidst Liverpool interest

According to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano (h/t Liverpool Echo), Juventus director Maurizio Arrivabene has revealed that Paulo Dybala will leave them in the summer transfer window amidst interest from Liverpool. This means that the English club could potentially get their hands on the attacker and boost their options for the next season.

Dybala is set to leave Allianz Stadium on a free transfer at the end of this campaign. As such, he can legally engage in pre-contract talks with clubs outside Italy and decide on his future destination before this summer. Juve chief Arrivabene himself has confirmed the matter, paving the way for the Reds to try their case.

“We won’t extend Paulo Dybala’s contract. We’re not gonna do any other proposal – the decision has been made.”

Romano has stated that the Argentinian’s agent will start talks over a summer transfer with the interested parties. Jurgen Klopp’s side has been linked with a move for the attacker, and this update could potentially hand them the initiative to go forward with their interest once again after this term.

Dybala a good option?

There is a need for an addition on the right-wing in our team as Mohamed Salah is the only reliable option at this moment. Takumi Minamino can deputise there as well, but he has failed to replicate his domestic cup form in the PL and UEFA Champions League on a regular basis. It was the same case with Sadio Mane on the opposite side, but we addressed the issue by signing Luis Diaz in January.

We certainly cannot depend on Salah alone in the long run as we need quality reinforcement to sustain our dominance in the future as well. He is himself involved in a contract standoff

with the Reds, and with the Egyptian’s deal expiring in the summer of 2023, fans would naturally worry regarding the situation.

Dybala can be a useful addition, especially when one considers how he will be available on a free transfer. As such, the Merseyside club would be smart to formally register their stance in the race, as clubs like Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, and Inter Milan are also in the mix at the moment.

The 28-year-old has done well this season, having scored 13 goals alongside nine assists from 29 appearances across all competitions. That is without even considering the injuries that have plagued the forward, which was an obstacle in his bid to have a consistent campaign for the Old Lady.

Dybala is versatile and can play as an attacking midfielder or a second striker, a role he has frequently played at the Allianz Stadium. As such, we would be signing a versatile and quality attacker if we do manage to get his services, and that too on a free.
