In conversation with Afrique Sports via Teamtalk as quoted by Hertfordshire Mercury, the agent of Liverpool linked forward and Watford ace Ismaila Sarr hints that the Sengaleese player could leave the Hornets at the end of the season.
Thierno Seydi, who is the agent of Sarr, went on to make some interesting comments about his clients in a recent interview. This could certainly be a major boost for the Reds who have previously had the 24-year-old forward on their radar.
The Senegalese forward has bagged 24 goals and provided 17 assists in 86 matches
across all competitions for the Hornets to date. Sarr has been a key figure up front and his ability with the ball is something that many clubs would crave to have in their ranks.Speaking with Afrique Sports via Teamtalk (h/t Herts Live), Seydi spoke about how the 24-year-old was bound to leave the club sometime ago but the deal did not ultimately take place.
“The only evidence is that I think he has chances to leave regardless of what happens between now and the end of the season with Watford. That’s how it’s planned with those in charge. Last year, or a year and a half ago, when the team had gone down to the Championship, he was meant to go, and I was convinced he would. Until the last minute, it was almost guaranteed he would leave, but unfortunately, it didn’t get done.”
Whilst the club did have an interest in him earlier we have since purchased the likes of Luis Diaz who has already hit the ground running at Anfield despite only arriving very recently. Diogo Jota is another player who has delivered really well ever since making the move from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Apart from this the club have the feared trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane in their ranks, but with age as a potent factor, the club could continue to add suitable replacements to help future proof the attacking department.
At 24, Ismaila Sarr can be a great addition to this Liverpool squad and help add more depth to the team. That being said, the inclusion of Diaz means that we could do better to add another striker to our ranks who could possibly fill in the hole that would be left by Divock Origi who is set to depart the club at the end of the season.
Sarr has only played 16 games in the Premier League so far but did manage to net five goals and one assist during that period. He shows the potential of becoming a top talent and could possibly do wonders under Jurgen Klopp provided he is given the correct opportunities. The German manager is also thought to be a fan of the Senegalese winger.
Hence the club could look to pursue this option should a lucrative deal and a feasible wage packet be presented to the Merseysiders. The Anfield outfit have also been trudging through rough waters with their contract negotiations with Salah currently hitting a standstill.
Whilst the Egyptian has previously stated that he is really happy at the club, the tension regarding his long-term future keeps increasing every week. In light of such developments pursuing the Senegalese winger wouldn’t be such a bad option and the latest comments from his agents would give us some hope if Liverpool are really interested in Ismaila Sarr.
