Liverpool striker Divock Origi is thought to have ‘agreed terms’ to join AC Milan in the coming transfer window
According to Il Corriere dello Sport (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool ace Divock Origi has already agreed on a four-year deal with AC Milan. It is believed that the agreement is only verbal as of yet and will be finalised in the weeks to come.
The Belgian international has gone down the pecking order in the last couple of seasons. He has struggled to cement a regular position in the star-studded attacking lineup at Anfield but has proven to be a dependable option on the biggest stages time and time again.
The former LOSC Lille hitman has been a great servant to the club to date. He has bagged 40 goals and provided 17 assists in 171 matches across all competitions for the Merseysiders till now. Despite his long relationship with the club, Origi has seen his opportunities become even more limited in recent times.
Is Origi to AC Milan a reality now?
The Belgian striker has only played a paltry 523 minutes across all competitions for Liverpool this season. During this period he has still managed to secure five goals and three assists but his time at Anfield could finally come to an end.
It is believed that the Rossoneri could offer the 26-year-old striker a wage packet of £3.3milllion. The Italian club is slowly becoming a dominating force in Serie A and narrowly missed out on the Scudetto to Inter Milan last season.
At 26, Origi could potentially have a lot of footballing years ahead of him and could be a great acquisition for the club from Milan. The Belgian’s uncanny ability to pick out pockets of space and change the look of a game with limited minutes could be a great asset for them.
We have witnessed the 26-year-old striker rise up to the occasion when it matters the most. The club faithful should forever be thankful for his contributions on the pitch in a Red jersey. His most notable achievement would have to be scoring two goals in the semi-final of the 2019-20 UEFA Champions League against Barcelona as well as the crucial second goal against Tottenham Hotspur in the UCL final of that same campaign.

His contribution certainly helped play a big part in our road to European success that season prompting Origi to silently become a very big part of our history in recent years. That being said, the fans should have no qualms as to the effort he put on the pitch and this move could potentially be the best solution for the club as well as the player.
