Jurgen Klopp has a full Liverpool squad to choose from ahead of Benfica clash
Speaking ahead of the Champions League quarter-final clash against Benfica as quoted by the Express, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that he has a full squad to pick from for the clash against the Portuguese giants.
The Reds face Benfica in the quarter-finals of the Champions League as they look to stake a claim in the semi-finals of the prestigious competition. This match is followed by the potential Premier League title-decider against Manchester City at the weekend.
Liverpool have had a few injury concerns of late with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Naby Keita just coming back off injuries. Joel Matip and Curtis Jones also appeared to have picked up knocks during the Watford clash last weekend.
Klopp however confirmed that all of them are fit and ready and he does not have any injury concerns going into tomorrow. This augurs well for the Reds given a busy April.
“Full squad available. Curtis was just a little swelling, it appeared overnight. Same with Joel which was very helpful because it looked very strange”
Respite ahead of a crucial period?
Having contributed 11 assists in the Premier League this season, Trent has been sensational for Jurgen Klopp’s team. He is just two assists shy of breaking his own record of 13 assists during Liverpool’s title-winning 2019-20 season.
The fitness of the English right-back will come as a huge boost for Klopp’s team as they look to navigate a busy April which could turn out to be season-defining.
Joel Matip has been the first choice centre-back partner for Virgil van Dijk while Curtis Jones continues to develop at Anfield.
