Marco Silva opens up on Fulham star Fabio Carvalho joining Liverpool
Speaking to reporters, as quoted by The Liverpool Echo, Fulham manager Marco Silva has opened up on Fabio Carvalho potentially joining Liverpool.
The youngster came close to joining the Reds last January only for both clubs to run out of time to work out a deal. Liverpool for their part remains interested and it is believed that a deal for the summer is all but done, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Silva for his part rates the youngster highly and went on to praise him for the role played in ensuring Fulham’s return to the Premier League. With nine goals and seven assists in 32 league games this season, the 19-year-old certainly played his part.
Speaking on Carvalho, Silva admitted that he has no information from the Fulham board that the player is set to move elsewhere. It is a pretty confusing statement given that the player’s deal is set to expire at the end of the season.
“As you expect I am speaking with our board every single day, and until now I didn’t receive news about it.”
The Fulham boss refused to get into any specifics and curiously enough also failed to confirm or deny any news of his player’s plans. This silence of sorts is in a way, deafening.
“I don’t want to talk about rumours or if something is true or not.”
No reason to worry!
The player for his part also opened up on the news and admits that the idea of a move to Liverpool has turned his head to an extent. For now, his focus remains on Fulham and appears to be the case until the end of the season.
While he has said nothing yet, Carvalho liked a post made by Fabrizio Romano stating that the 19-year-old is on his way to Anfield. Actions, after all, speak louder than words. Carvalho, who now plays for Portugal U21 after having represented England’s youth teams earlier in his career, has come through the youth ranks at The Fulham Academy.

Carvalho has all the potential to become a genuine world-class player in the future. Liverpool signing him in the summer will surely hand them a massive boost as far as bringing in young talent is concerned.
If he becomes a Red, he will join the likes of Harvey Elliott, Curtis Jones, and Tyler Morton as the torchbearer of the Liverpool team in the years after we start losing some of our main players.
