Liverpool could swoop in for Turkish forward to replace Origi

Liverpool could eye Getafe striker Enes Unal as a potential replacement for Divock Origi

According to Fanatik (h/t BBC Football), Liverpool could target Getafe ace Enes Unal this summer to replace Divock Origi. The Turkish international was once part of our arch-rivals Manchester City.

The Reds have been looking over their shoulders with the departure of Divock Origi on the cards. The 27-year-old striker has gone down the pecking order at Anfield but has shown that he can be a great impact sub whenever called upon.

The Belgian striker has cemented his place in our hearts and finding a suitable replacement for him certainly won’t be easy. Unal is being touted as a potential replacement for him, having bagged 15 goals and one assist in 32 La Liga matches

for the Azulones this campaign.

Enes Unal to Anfield?

The Turkish striker has been a dependable outlet, especially towards the latter stages of the season. Unal has been a major source of their goals this season, which is even more impressive considering that they currently languish in 15th place in the La Liga table.

The Spanish club are only five points adrift of the relegation zone in the Spanish top-flight right now. This could help the Reds purchase the talented youngster in a cut-price deal should we be genuinely interested in securing his services.

With Roberto Fimrino in his 30s, the club could do well to future-proof the striking department at Anfield. While Sadio Mane has been effective in that position this campaign, we would lack an out-and-out striking replacement should Origi depart.

At 24, the Bursa-born striker still has some of his prime years ahead of him and could go on to become the torchbearer of our forward line one day should he arrive at the Merseyside club. He could in the initial stages deputise for the Brazilian and even go on to fight for a starting position should he display the required qualities.

The club has also been linked with Darwin Nunez recently but Unal seems like a cheaper and more attainable alternative at the moment. We have tried our best to recruit players in their early to mid-20s in the last couple of years with a view to further developing them to suit the culture of Liverpool.

Unal fits this bill perfectly and may provide some young dynamic energy going forward. While the Merseysiders may be tempted to move for the Turkish international, time shall be the perfect judge of what takes place in the coming transfer window.
