Liverpool eyeing shirt sponsorship deal worth £80million-a-year
According to The Daily Mail, Liverpool are eyeing a record-breaking new shirt sponsorship deal ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
The Reds have a long-running association with Standard Chartered, their main shirt sponsor since 2010. Their last renewal was signed in 2018 and nets the club £40m-a-year. As things stand, both sides consider the partnership to be a successful one.
The arrangement expires at the end of the 2022/23 campaign and talks are already underway regarding what happens next. Standard Chartered will have to double their current terms and fork out £80m-a-year in order to continue as our primary shirt sponsors.
The bank is not the only party currently in negotiation with the Reds. The club is also engaged in talks with several companies from sectors such as financial services, travel and tourism, consumer electronics, fast-moving consumer goods, media and cryptocurrency exchange and blockchain.
The Reds are a dominant force on the field and have captured everyone’s fancy with their hunt for the quadruple this season. The success combined with the attractive football that they play makes Jurgen Klopp’s side a marketing strategist’s dream.
A juggernaut awakened!
Liverpool have the biggest selling shirt in football, with sales expected to cross two million for the first time this season. If anything, it is a brilliant indicator of the good work that FSG are doing off the field to market the club.
With Klopp signing a new contract till 2025, there is little chance of the Reds falling away anytime soon. The good times are set to continue and it remains to be seen who we continue our journey with. Standard Chartered or not, Liverpool’s stock has never been higher.

Given that the Reds are among the two best teams in club football today, it makes perfect sense for them to demand top billing. Being associated with success is no mean feat and it remains to be seen who will present the club with the cheque that is worth their time.
The likes of Carlsberg, Candy, and Standard Chartered have become associated with the club over the years because of their brand names featuring on our famous kit. While the Reds have a chance to make big money from such deals, the companies that come in also understand what they are going to be gaining by associating themselves with a footballing juggernaut.
