Transfer News: Liverpool have to fork out €70m for French star Aurelien Tchouameni
According to AS via SportWitness (h/t Mirror), Liverpool have learned how much they have to spend in order to secure the transfer of Monaco star Aurelien Tchouameni.
The French international has performed exceptionally well in the French league while playing for Monaco. Considering his performance in the ongoing season, he has already become one of the most exciting young midfield talents in Europe. Apart from putting in dominating displays, he has secured three goals and two assists in 47 appearances.
The effective outputs of Aurelien Tchouameni haven’t gone unnoticed by top-tier European teams. Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Juventus are closely following the development of the French starlet.
Tchouameni has shown interest in playing in the UEFA Champions League. However, considering the current situation of Monaco, gaining qualification for the coveted competition seems a little difficult for the French starlet. If the Monégasques miss out on UCL, the French star might look for other options in the following transfer window.
However, whoever desires to secure the transfer of Tchouameni have to pay a fortune as it is believed that Monaco have valued their prized asset at €70m (£58.9m).
Will Liverpool go aggressive for Tchouameni?
Despite being pretty young, Tchouameni has shown a commanding display from the middle of the pitch. His skills align with the requirements of Liverpool, who probably have to bring in fresh reinforcements to compensate for the ageing stars in midfield.
However, paying a humongous transfer fee for a midfielder hasn’t been a typical trait for our team. The Reds board have preferred to sign young talents before they burst out onto the scene, and when they do pay such a high value, they eye for more experienced players.

Even though the young midfield requirement is becoming a significant issue, it hasn’t reached the point of desperation so far. Our team already have a strong squad with good depth capable of winning matches against top teams.
Reds’ secured the transfer of Thiago Alcântara last season. Hence, it looks improbable that they would go aggressive in the transfer window for another midfielder.
