Real Madrid to focus on Liverpool stars Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah after missing out on Kylian Mbappe
According to the Metro, Real Madrid might try to snatch away Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah from Liverpool after failing to secure Kylian Mbappe’s signature.
The Frenchman’s transfer saga ended with a dramatic U-turn last night as he pledged his future to PSG by penning a lucrative new contract. He was a major transfer target for Rewal who were confident of landing him. But after several attempts in the last two years, they have once again faced defeat in their transfer pursuit of the 23-year-old.
After failing to lure him away, Real are expected to make significant changes in their transfer approach for the summer window. Los Blancos have held long term interest in Liverpool duo Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah and now they could make their move.
Florentino Pérez’s team saw a €200m offer for Mbappe get rejected by PSG last summer. This scenario reflects that Los Blancos have the significant financial backing to fulfil the demands of a big-money transfer move. Now it remains to be seen how far they agree to go to secure Mane or Salah.
Both Liverpool stars are about to enter the final year of their contract and still haven’t penned an extension despite being engaged in contract talks with the Reds board. If the situation prevails, the Merseyside team can lose them for free.
Can Real Madrid sign Mane or Salah?
Mane and Salah have been among Liverpool’s most prolific attackers under Jurgen Klopp. It can be argued that it is their goals that have taken the Reds to several trophies in the last few seasons.
They both have given peak performances this season and seem to have a few more years left in their legs. Considering the duo fall in the category of the best players in the world, it would be a massive blow for Liverpool to lose them.
