Transfer News: Liverpool know Aurelien Tchouameni wants Real Madrid move this summer
According to Paul Gorst of the Liverpool Echo, it is understood by Liverpool that Aurelien Tchouameni wants a move to Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old midfielder has been linked with a switch to Anfield in recent weeks. However, it now looks like Los Blancos are favourites to land him in the summer as they look to bring in another young Frenchman after Eduardo Camavinga’s capture last year.
This comes after Madrid’s gigantic attempts to sign Kylian Mbappe failed, with the Frenchman extending his contract to PSG until 2025. He will apparently earn £1million-a-week at Parc des Princes, after pocketing close to £100m in signing fees.
Missing out on a player who would have pocketed some serious numbers at Santiago Bernabeu, perhaps they now have room to attain some of their other targets. Managed by French agency Excellence Sports Nation, Tchouameni’s agents have now informed LFC of their client’s intentions.
No Tchouameni for LFC?
Still just 22 and already a full France international, his potential and ability are there for all to see. He is regularly trusted in AS Monaco’s midfield and is believed by many to be the future of Les Bleus‘ midfield.
He is an asset for his team in possession but really thrives when he is helping out his team’s defence against opposition attackers. His two league goals against Lille earlier this month showed everyone how he can be a box-to-box midfielder.
But it seems like the Reds are set to miss out on their man- if they still hold any intentions of signing him. They already have a pretty good midfield with the likes of Thiago Alcantara and Naby Keita a regular fixture in Jurgen Klopp’s starting XI.

Jordan Henderson and Fabinho are equally important but Hendo and Thiago aren’t really getting any younger. Tchouameni would have been a neat signing to future-proof our interests in the middle of the park. But there should be plenty of other fishes in the sea apart from Tchouameni… hopefully.
