Dani Carvajal took a potshot at Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah ahead of the UEFA Champions League final
According to ABC (h/t The Mirror), Real Madrid star Dani Carvajal has sent out a warning to Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah ahead of the Champions League final on Saturday.
Both clubs will face off in European football’s showpiece event. It is a repeat of the final from 1981 in Paris and the first time that the two teams will be meeting at such a stage since Kyiv in 2018.
Real Madrid came out trumps that night after Sergio Ramos used the dark arts to put Salah out of the game. Loris Karius had a night to forget as Jurgen Klopp’s men ended the night in tears.
While the Reds tasted redemption a year later by securing the trophy, doing so for a seventh time this weekend against Real would be poetic justice. Salah for one is excited to face Madrid and has made nos secret of his desire to do so.
Speaking ahead of the game, Carvajal hinted that another loss will only add to Salah’s burden. It is fair to say that the Liverpool ace’s comments have ruffled some feathers in the Los Blancos camp.
“Let’s hope it’s not an important burden for Salah to lose a second Champions League final against Real Madrid.”
Real appear to be living in their own paradise and making up narratives to suit themselves. Karim Benzema raised eyebrows with his suggestions that Liverpool believe they already have the match under wraps.
Hopefully, the Reds will do their talking on the field and hand the Real Madrid player humble pie for dinner. It remains to be seen if number seven beckons at the Stade de France this weekend.

Liverpool will do well to retain their focus and let their football do the talking. If the final in Kyiv showed us anything it is that Real can stoop low for an advantage. The Reds would know better than losing their cool at petty provocations.
Carvajal is likely to have the task of handling Luis Diaz down that flank of his. He clearly has way bigger problems to deal with rather than getting offended at Salah’s harmless quotes.
