“Keep going”- Liverpool ace sends a message to rivals ahead of 2022/23 PL campaign

Liverpool star Andy Robertson sounds out a message to Manchester City ahead of the 2022/23 season

According to the club’s official website, Liverpool star Andy Robertson has given his verdict on the recently concluded Premier League title race where they lost out to Manchester City.

The Reds finished just a point behind the Cityzens for the second time in four seasons, missing out after coming agonizingly close. The fact that City almost blew their advantage against Aston Villa to come back and win adds to our annoyance.

The Scottish skipper is however in no mood to call it quits and is keen to challenge for the title next season. Jurgen Klopp’s mentality monsters have proved in the past that adversity makes them stronger and will hope to do so

again next season.

“But we’ll keep going, we will bounce back next season, we will try to go again. The last time it happened we reacted in a pretty good fashion and we have to do that again next season.”

Robertson is aware that Liverpool needs to raise their game to go one better next season. Given the resources at Pep Guardiola’s disposal, there is no other way than to raise our game to meet the standards.

“We have to be ready to compete with them again and be better than them and try to get our hands on the Premier League.”

The 28-year-old was also graceful enough to tip his hat to Man City. It is fair to say that the Reds have humility in abundance to go with their ability on the field.

“Gutting, of course it is. We have been beaten by fantastic champions, nobody can argue that.”

The angst is hopefully deep enough for Robertson to seek revenge on the field. The Reds came all too close to securing the elusive quadruple and at the very least have something to aim for next season.

More Liverpool News

Liverpool have in the past reacted to setbacks with unerring motivation and went on to garner much success. With the likes of Jurgen Klopp and co at the helm, more of the same can be expected.

For now, all eyes will be on the UEFA Champions League final against Real Madrid in Paris. Winning three out of four trophies is not a bad season at all- especially one that a superclub like Man City haven’t ever gotten their hands on.
