Liverpool star Sadio Mane promises to clarify his future after the UCL final
While speaking in an interview, as quoted by the Mirror, Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has revealed that he would provide all the details regarding his contract scenario with the Merseyside team and future plans after the Champions League final.
Sadio Mane has been a sensational performer in this campaign for Liverpool. By scoring 23 goals and providing five assists in 50 appearances he has helped his team reach the final stages of crucial competitions. However, despite such a display, his contract talks with the Merseyside team remain unresolved.
Mane is about to enter the final year of his contract and would be eligible to talk with foreign teams starting in January. Amid such a situation, Bayern Munich, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid have shown interest in signing the 30-year-old if he fails to reach a renewal agreement with the Reds.
When asked about his future, the Senegalese star gave a strong reply suggesting that he would be ready to provide all the answers after the UCL final. He even added that it’d be the ‘best’ and ‘special answer’.
“But come back to me on Saturday and I will give you the best answer you want to hear, for sure. It’s special. I will give you all you want to hear then. Saturday come back and I will give you the answer I promise, but for now, let’s go win it because I have no time for other things.”
When asked about the possibility of signing for Real Madrid, Mane laughed and suggested that his main focus is on the coming Champions League final and he would give his all to bring the trophy to Anfield. But for the moment, he doesn’t want to talk about his future.
“Haha, good question, but what I want to say now is I am fully focussed on the Champions League and winning it. That is far more important for me and the Liverpool fans, for me I will do everything absolutely possible to win the game for Liverpool. Then we will talk.”
What next for Mane and Liverpool?
Sadio Mane has given spectacular performances in the last few seasons along with his attacking partner Mohamed Salah. The African duo has become a lethal attacking partnership that has spilt blood everywhere around Europe against some of the top teams.
However, considering the recent scenario both the Liverpool star hasn’t signed renewal deals and could leave the club for free after their contract finishes. No indication suggests that the Reds board has made a breakthrough in contract talks with them, hence Mane might not have the best news for Liverpool fans.
In the January transfer window, Jurgen Klopp signed Luis Diaz who has excelled in his role and seems to have the potential to reach the top of the game. Down in the line, he could replace Mane as the team’s first-choice left-winger.
