Darwin Nunez has liked three tweets mentioning his move from SL Benfica to Liverpool as transfer draws near
Darwin Nunez has taken to his Twitter account to like three tweets that speak about his imminent transfer to Liverpool.
The Uruguayan international is set for a move to Anfield in the coming days, with the Reds paying a fee that could amount to €100million with add-ons. There hasn’t been any confirmation of the move from LFC or Nunez.
SL Benfica, meanwhile, have released an official confirmation of the move. Their message translates to the two clubs reaching an agreement over a fee, with the move now dependent on agreements between LFC and the player’s entourage.
But the former Almeria’s Twitter activity could be taken as the strongest hint that his move to Liverpool is now as good as official from all sides. As confirmed by Liverpool Echo, Nunez liked one tweet that just mentions a deal being agreed between the Eagles and the Merseysiders.
As good as gold
Another tweet featured a photo of Luis Suarez and Nunez together, with the caption ‘Liverpool’s past and Liverpool’s future’. This would surely mean that Nunez is on his way to England.
A third tweet, as visible in the picture below, came from an SL Benfica fan page. A translation would indicate that their fans are wishing Nunez good luck for his big move to Liverpool.
The days of social media have certainly added spice and excitement to the transfer window. Fans can keep up with the news regarding their favourite players and team on a daily basis.
But that has also increased the spread of misinformation as well as sensationalism regarding potential moves. While Nunez’s ‘likes’ on his account point toward a move being agreed upon between all parties. it is best to wait.

It isn’t known if the player runs his own account or if it is someone else doing it on his behalf. But for the time being, the move looks as good as confirmed and barring any late slip-ups, we can expect an official announcement soon.
According to David Maddock of the Mirror, his Liverpool medical has already started at 11 AM, which would presumably be GMT.
