Transfer News: Liverpool could test Rennes’ resolve with an offer for Martin Terrier
As per French outlet L’Equipe (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool have been linked with a move for versatile Stade Rennais forward, Martin Terrier.
The 25-year-old Frenchman usually plays down the left flank, but can also play on the opposite wing as well as down the middle- kind of like our very own Diogo Jota.
Terrier came through the youth academy at LOSC Lille Metropole but really started to make a name for himself when he was at Olympique Lyonnais. A move to Stade Rennais followed, where he has been ever since.
Having played in France all his life, a move to Liverpool would certainly be foreign land for Terrier. If his current club’s stance is to be believed, they consider him ‘not for sale’.
Nevertheless, it is said that clubs can test their resolve with a transfer offer. Having signed for Rennes just two years back, it remains to be seen if he is ready to move already.
He is certainly an asset to most managers with his versatility and quality. Terrier can compete for starts down the left flank with Luis Diaz if he is brought to L4.
Now that Sadio Mane has joined Bayern Munich, there is one less world-class winger at the club. With Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino also joining AC Milan and AS Monaco respectively, Jurgen Klopp could do with another forward to compete for starts.

It remains to be seen what happens in this particular story. Terrier is not a household name like Mohamed Salah or Roberto Firmino but he can certainly do a good job for a top team like LFC.
