Liverpool enquire about Antony as the Reds look into the signing of the Ajax forward

Liverpool have enquired about Ajax forward Antony, according to Football Insider (h/t Liverpool Echo). The Reds are looking into the possibility of signing the South American from the Dutch side.

Manchester United are the other side the Merseysiders will have to contend with for the Brazilian’s signature. Erik ten Hag wants to reunite with his former player. The former Ajax manager seemingly wants to bring the 22-year-old to Old Trafford.

The Eredivisie champions value Antony at £59million. However, neither Liverpool nor the Red Devils are willing to pay what the Dutch giants ask for currently.

The Brazilian has been impressive for the last couple of seasons. In the previous campaign, the 22-year-old was electric for Ajax. Antony was one of the key members of Ten Hag’s XI.

Reds fans already have the pick of the lot when it comes to attacking options in the team. Mohamed Salah is the talisman for LFC. The Egyptian has a guaranteed place in Jurgen Klopp’s XI.

Sadio Mane may have left, but Liverpool have brought in Darwin Nunez. The Uruguayan has proved himself as a great goalscorer with Benfica. Now, the 23-year-old comes to the Premier League to show his qualities.

Luis Diaz was signed in January by the club. His signing has paid off big time. The Colombian has brought flair to the left-hand side of the attack.

Also, fans can’t forget Diogo Jota. The Portuguese seems to have a knack for scoring goals when the team needs it the most. The former Wolves forward is a versatile option at Klopp’s disposal.
