Jose Enrique praises Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah for Darwin Nunez penalty gesture

Jose Enrique took to Twitter to praise Liverpool star Mohamed Salah as the Egyptian passed on a penalty to Darwin Nunez. It led to the Uruguayan’s his first goal in a Red shirt this pre-season.

After having underwhelming displays against Manchester United and Crystal Palace during the Thailand tour, the 23-year-old had a lot of pressure on him. Rival fans were seen mocking him on social media.

The goal against RB Leipzig came at the perfect time for Nunez. Salah opened the scoring in the first half. Then, at the start of the second half, Liverpool were awarded a penalty, which the Egyptian generously handed to Nunez.

Slotting the spot kick in the back of the net, the 23-year-old followed it up with three more. Nunez ended the night with four goals as the Reds triumphed over the Red Bulls 5-0.

There have been nerves around the Uruguayan ever since his big-money move from Benfica. Nunez had a prolific season for the Eagles in Portugal. Nunez was also impressive during the Champions League campaign.

The striker scored against Liverpool in both legs of the quarter-finals. Nunez must have impressed those in charge at the club a lot as they trusted him with the task of replacing someone like Sadio Mane in the squad.

Luis Diaz signed from the Portuguese league in January and has fit right into the team from day one. The Colombian has had an instant impact playing for the Reds, making the left-wing his own.

Salah is a key member of the team and seeing him helping the Uruguayan settle into the team is a good thing. The 23-year-old requires time and patience to settle in the side. And hopefully, Nunez can replicate his exploits at Anfield.
