Liverpool sign talented 16-year-old Derry City starlet

Liverpool sign 16-year-old Trent Kone-Doherty from Derry City

Liverpool have signed 16-year-old Trent Kone-Doherty from Derry City, with his former club wishing him the best on Twitter. The Ireland U16 international mostly plays in an attacking position.

The youngster has five caps for his international side’s U16 side and has scored two goals for them. Kone-Doherty has also featured for Ireland’s U17 side.

Liverpool’s academy has been churning out some great players lately. Recently on the pre-season tour, we got to witness some academy stars plying their trade against some of the biggest names in world football.

Stefan Bajcetic is a 17-year-old Spaniard who has impressed a lot of folks with his displays during the pre-season. The youngster has featured in all three of our games as of yet and has shown great potential.

The youngster is a versatile defender/midfielder who has been played in the middle of the park by Jurgen Klopp in Thailand as well as Leipzig. And fans have been raving about him on social media.

Tyler Morton and Isaac Mabaya have been the other standouts during the pre-season. The duo featured in the game against Manchester United and Crystal Palace in the first two games.

Morton is the other midfielder who’s caught the eyes of fans. He’s another youngster with a good head on his shoulders. The 19-year-old has been calm on the ball and looks like a great prospect.

Mabaya is another player fans raved about after his performance against Manchester United. The 17-year-old played as a right-back and made great runs down the channels.

We have other youngsters in the first team fold, such as Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho. The two have shown great promise playing in the middle of the park despite being attacking players.

Fans will hope Kone-Doherty flourishes in the future the same way our other Trent has over the years. The future looks bright with such talented youngsters backing up our senior side.
